Île de Ré – the call of the beach and the ocean

Discover the island’s capital of Saint-Martin-de-Ré, where you’ll find a concentration of some of the island’s historic treasures. These include the fortifications and citadel built by Vauban, military engineer to Louis XIV, and which form part of the UNESCO Heritage Site of Vauban’s fortifications.
